Super Eagles wingback Ola Aina said that the Palancas Negras of Angola were the toughest opponents Nigeria have faced in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Aina admitted that the Palancas Negras proved a tough nut to crack for the Super Eagles on Friday night at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Nigeria beat Angola 1-0. Ademola Lookman scored the winning goal for the Super Eagles four minutes before the break.
The former Chelsea star reckons that it was one of the most difficult games played so far by the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2023.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game. I think so far, it’s one of the hardest we’ve played just because we have had a lot of games where physically the boys have put a lot in.
“This game was really hard, but nevertheless, we are happy that we put in a performance and result that we wanted to,” Aina told journalists in Abidjan.
