A tricycle operator, popularly known as Maruwa, has been crushed to death by a truck on the Ijoka area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The tricyclist was said to be returning from a church programme in the wee hours of Monday when the accident occurred.
It was gathered that his wife and son escaped death by a whisker as they sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The tricycle driver was reported to have died before getting to the state hospital.
Sources said that the Maruwa driver was trying to avoid a pothole when he rammed into an oncoming truck, leading a severe impact on the tricycle.
