Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged Muslims in Rivers State and around the world to reflect on the core values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In his Sallah message, Governor Fubara also called on Muslims to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity, “especially at a time when Nigeria faces serious challenges from insecurity and economic difficulties.”
Fubara emphasized that the essence of the festival lies in forgiveness and compassion.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara encouraged the Muslim faithful to use the season to extend kindness to the less privileged, reconcile differences, forgive past wrongs, and strengthen community bonds.
He acknowledged the patience and sacrifices of the people of Rivers State in advancing the state’s development.
While noting that “many aspirations remain unmet due to political challenges, notable achievements have still been recorded,” he reassured the public that steps are being taken to restore stability in governance and boost the economy.
Fubara called for sustained prayers for the peace and progress of Rivers State, “reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and welfare of all residents.”
