The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Saturday, June 20, 2026 as the date for the Ekiti State Governorship Election.
Thefrontrank reports that INEC had in May announced the dates for the Ekiti State Governorship election, but released the Notice of the election on Wednesday.
According to the commission, the disclosure is in line with Section 28 (1) and (2) of the Electoral Act 2022.
The election is scheduled to be held across all 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, with voting set to commence by 8:30 a.m. at all 2,445 polling units.
In a formal notice released to the public, INEC outlined key requirements for voter eligibility and accreditation procedures.
Only individuals whose names appear on the Register of Voters and who possess a valid Permanent Voter Card (PVC) will be allowed to participate in the exercise.
Additionally, voters will only be permitted to cast their ballots at the polling units where they are registered.
