Cecelia Fayase, a former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, is dead.
Thefrontrank reports that Fayase represented Ondo West Constituency 1 in the Assembly from 1999 to 2003 on the platform of Alliance for Democracy(AD), and was the only female lawmaker.
Fayase, fondly called “Mama” died on Saturday morning.
She also served as a Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission.
Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ondo State House of Assembly, described Fayase as a dedicated public servant who tirelessly worked for the betterment of her community.
“Mama Cecilia Fayase has gone to rest, a true mother of the people. Former Ondo lawmaker & Federal Commissioner, she served with wisdom, courage & compassion. Her legacy of truth, justice & care lives on.
“Rest in peace, Mama,” Ogunwumiju wrote on his X(formerly Twitter) handle.
