There is palpable fear in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist whose body was found in a well behind the town’s stadium on Okitipupa road.
The victim, identified as Isah Ibrahim, was reportedly attacked by assailants who also made away with his red Bajaj motorcycle.
It was gathered that Ibrahim was declared missing on August 17, after colleagues had combed almost everywhere in Ore before his remains was found inside a well on Thursday.
Sources told Thefrontrank the deceased had conveyed a passenger to the area before he was ambushed.
The attackers allegedly killed him and dumped his body in the well to conceal the crime.
“The motive behind the killing is not yet clear, but it is strongly suspected to be a case of motorcycle snatching, which has become rampant in Ore and its environs,” said a source.
Thefrontrank reports that the corpse was later recovered from the well.
The spokesperson for Ondo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, who confirmed the death of Ibrahim, said that investigation had commenced.
