Nigerian business magnate and and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has galvanised the Super Eagles with a substantial financial pledge following their impressive 2025 AFCON quarter-final victory against Algeria in Morocco on Saturday evening.
The billionaire businessman took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to congratulate the team and announce a significant incentive for their upcoming matches in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Should the Super Eagles overcome hosts Morocco in Wednesday’s semi-final, Rabiu has promised the team a generous $500,000, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored.
The stakes are even higher for the final, with a staggering $1,000,000 pledged for a victory, complemented by $100,000 for each goal netted in the ultimate showdown.
In his congratulatory message, Rabiu wrote: “Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.” He concluded by wishing the team “continued success as you carry Nigeria forward.”
The Super Eagles, fresh from their 2-0 triumph over Algeria, now face a formidable challenge against Morocco in the semi-finals next week. Rabiu’s generous pledge is undoubtedly a powerful motivator as they aim for AFCON glory.
