The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has listed the installation of 1,000 Stand-alone Solar Streetlights and replacement of conventional streetlights in Akure, the State capital, as part of his major achievements in the last six months.
Thefrontrank reports that Ondo State received N138.71 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) in the first half of 2025.
In addition, the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service(ODIRS) generated over N28 billion in the first six months of 2025, as published on the Joint Tax Board (JTB) portal.
Thefrontrank reports that other listed achievements of the Aiyedatiwa include landscaping of Chief Reuben Fasoranti Park, opposite Governor’s Office, Akure.
These “achievements” among others were shared on WhatsApp platforms on Saturday by Oladipupo Okunniga, an aide to the Governor on Social Media.
The message was titled “Road Contracts Awarded by Gov. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa within the Last 6 Months”.
The message read: “In continuation of his commitment to infrastructure renewal and balanced development across Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved and awarded the following major road projects within the last six months:

Some residents who reacted to the “WhatsApp shared achievements” described the present administration in the state as lacking the genuineness and capacity to develop and provide the needed infrastructural development.
“This is a big shame to Ondo State indigenes. Installation of stand-alone Solar Streetlights and replacement of conventional streetlights are what local government councillors in Lagos State will showcase as achievements.
“It’s unfortunate that governance and leadership in Ondo state is now at ground zero while eyeservice and sycophancy have taken the centre stage.
“It is obvious that the government has nothing to offer us even with the quantum of money being raked in from both the federation accounts and the internally generated revenue,” a resident told Thefrontrank.
