For the umpteenth time, angry youths in Ayede Ogbese, in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo state, on Tuesday protested incessant killings and abductions in the community by bandits.
It was gathered that a youth in the community was reportedly killed by gunmen on Monday night.
This is coming barely two weeks after suspected gunmen killed the traditional ruler of Ahungha Village, Agamo Area, in the same local government, Oba Kehinde Jacob Faledun.

kidnapped a couple in Ilu-Abo in the same council area, while some worshippers at a Celestial Church in Uso community, Owo Local Government Area, were abducted last week by gunmen.
The youths, armed with placards, blocked the Ayede Ogbese highway lamenting the incessant killings and abductions in their community, and the insecurity of lives and property.
Some of the placards read: “Stop the killing of innocent soul. Justice must be served !! We are tired!!!”
Their protest caused gridlock on the highway for as motorists took alternative routes in the bush in a bid to get to their destinations.
They lamented that the people of the area had been neglected by the state government, accusing the security agents in the state of not doing enough to curtail the activities of the criminals.
The youths vowed not leave the expressway until the government provide solution to the problem.
