The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa has unveiled list of projects for commissioning as part of the activities marking the first year anniversary of his administration.
The programme of events was released on Tuesday in Akure by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti.
Thefrontrank reports that projects listed for commissioning in the six-day programme include community roads, health centres, rehabilitated roads, solar powered boreholes and plywood plants.
Most of the projects listed for commissioning were initiated by the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’ administration.
Aiyedatiwa, who was then the Deputy Governor, was sworn in as the substantive Governor on December 27, 2023, to complete the tenure of his boss, Akeredolu, who died in a German hospital.
Taking oath for the second time, on February 24, 2025, Aiyedatiwa was inaugurated for a four-term tenure following his victory in the November 16, 2024 governorship election.
Thefrontrank reports that Aiyedatiwa, while reacting to public outcry over non-commissioning of projects during the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Ondo State, had promised to inaugurate “several monumental projects” across the State as part of the anniversary activities to mark his one year in office.
A statement issued by Mr Allen Sowore, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, dated February 1, 2026, read: “The Ondo State Government has taken note of the comments, anxieties, and public calls for project commissioning as part of activities to mark the Golden Jubilee of the creation of Ondo State.
“The February 24, 2026 first-year anniversary of the Governor’s administration will, however, be dedicated to the commissioning of completed projects. To this end, several monumental projects across the State have been identified and lined up for commissioning as part of the anniversary activities.
“The good people of Ondo State are therefore encouraged to actively participate in these landmark events.”
However, a statement announcing activities for the first year anniversary issued by Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan read: “The first anniversary of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration marks a significant milestone in the journey toward a more prosperous Ondo State.”
The statement said that the anniversary activities would commence on Thursday, February 19 and end on Tuesday, February 24.
