In a display of pomp and pageantry, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, HRM Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, Okporua 1, has received the staff of office, a symbol of the highest traditional honour, from the Governor of Delta State, Dr Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP.
The ceremony, graced by the Deputy Governor, Chief Monday John Onyema, marked a significant milestone in the history of Udu Kingdom, as the Ovie embarked on a new journey, poised to steer the kingdom towards greater heights.
Hon. Henry Baro, the Asiwaju of Delta State and Director, Corporate Services, Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), extended his warmest congratulations to the Ovie, describing the occasion as a “moment of jubilation and celebration for the entire Udu Kingdom”.
In a statement through his media team, Baro expressed profound gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for installing and presenting the staff to the Ovie, saying, “This singular honour is an evidence to the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the development of Udu Kingdom and Delta State as a whole”.
He appealed to the good people of Udu Kingdom to fully support the administration of His Excellencies, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Governor Oborevwori, saying, “Development is going round all the local government areas, and Udu will not be left out. We must join hands with the Governor to build a brighter future for our people”.
Baro urged the people of Udu Kingdom to be patient, saying, “Governor Sheriff is poised for development, and his administration will leave an indelible mark on the sands of time”. He went further to say that ” the governor will leave no stone unturned.”
The Asiwaju of Delta State also commended the Deputy Governor, Chief Sir Monday John Onyema, for representing the Governor at the ceremony, saying, “Your presence has added lustre to the occasion, and we appreciate your unwavering support for the Governor’s vision”.
As the Ovie of Udu Kingdom begins his journey, the people of Udu Kingdom are optimistic that with the support of the Governor, the kingdom will experience a new dawn of development and progress.
