The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anthony Okon Placid, as the new Force Public Relations Officer.
Thefrontrank reports that the replacement followed the removal of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The Inspector-General of Police has also appointed DCP Aliyu Mohammed as the new Head of Police Monitoring Unit, replacing CP Akin Fakorode.
In addition to the leadership change in the police public relations department, the police hierarchy has reportedly established a new unit known as the New Media Office.
Chief Superintendent of Police Ali Giwa has been appointed to head the newly created department, which is expected to focus on digital communication and online engagement for the police.
