The Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Bliss Alabi Oshionogue, has been impeached.
Oshionogue was removed from office by members of the legislative arm of the council.
The impeachment was conveyed in a letter endorsed by seven councillors.
The development came just hours after a planned peace meeting between Oshionogue and the seven aggrieved councillors failed to hold at the Edo State House of Assembly.
