
Hon. Femi Idris, the Chairman, Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, has been elected as the National Chairman of Association of Chairmen of Local Government Service Commissions in Nigeria (ACLGSCN).
Idris emerged national chairman of the association through an election held on Wednesday, May 14, in Abuja.
He was voted for overwhelmingly, to emerge as the national chairman of the association.
Idris succeeded Barrister Muhammad Sani Bawa of the Nasarawa State Local Government Service Commission.
Similarly, Chief Simon Tangni was elected as national vice-chairman; Chief Romanus Nwasum, national secretary; Ms Olubukunola Onabanjo, national treasurer; and Prof. Aminu Ladan, OON, as national PRO.
In his acceptance speech, Idris said the election reinforced the vision, growth and development of what the association stood for.
While calling for synergy to achieve the desired objectives of the association, Idris promised that his administration would continue to advance the welfare of members and place them first in every decision taken.
“It is my solemn promise that this mandate will continue to prioritise the welfare of members and ensure the associations unwavering dedication to progress,” he said.
Earlier, the immediate past chairman, pledged his support for the newly elected leadership.
Bawa expressed his confidence in the capabilities of the new leadership of the association, urging them to work together and move the association to greater heights.
The former national chairman called on members to join hands with the new executives to ensure the association achieved its mandate.
Members pledged full support and loyalty to the new executives in restoring the dreams of the association.
