Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Solomon Ewuga, is dead.
He was aged 70.
The chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness.
A family member in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon confirmed his death late Tuesday, adding that details of his burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
Ewuga, a seasoned politician and elder statesman, served as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State before his appointment as FCT Minister. He also represented Nasarawa North in the 7th Senate.
In 2021, he endured a traumatic kidnapping ordeal that left him with lasting injuries.
Until his death, Ewuga was widely regarded as a role-model politician who made notable contributions to national development under successive administrations from 1999 to date.
Beyond politics, Senator Ewuga was widely respected for his statesmanship and his role in shaping Nasarawa’s political history.
His death marks the end of an era for the state and Nigeria’s democratic journey.
The deceased is survived by his family, political associates and admirers who will remember him for his service and leadership.
