Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has formally defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC)
Fintiri, in a statewide broadcast on Friday in Yola, said he decamped with his entire cabinet and all Peoples Democratic Party officials.
Governor Fintiri, who served as the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) 2026 National Convention, said his action was for the developmental interest of the people of the state.
Thefrontrank reports that Fintiri also displayed his APC registration card dated February 27, 2026.
The Governor said his defection was after wide consultations with a large spectrum of our people.
“We have resolved to politically align Adamawa State with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“This alignment would enable Adamawa State to effectively support and leverage the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, which aims to transform the nation in critical sectors including social welfare, infrastructure, housing and inclusive economic development,” he stated.
