The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas has announced that he will officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Kefas revealed this on Saturday while inspecting ongoing renovation of the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, the State capital, that will be used to receive him and his loyalists to APC.
The Governor said the decision to dump the PDP to APC was in furtherance of interests and future of Taraba residents rather than for personal gains.
“On the 19th of November, I will officially transition from PDP to APC. This movement is about the destiny of the people of Taraba, and we are expecting many visitors for the ceremony,” Kefas said.
He said he will reveal more on his decision to join the APC in the speech that would be delivered during the defection event.
Kefas said this will allow the people of the state to judge if his decision was right or wrong.
Members of the Governor’s cabinet have declared support for his decision to move to APC.
Speaking on behalf the cabinet members, the State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Muslim Aruwa, said he and his colleagues will move with the governor to any party he desired.
He said members of the cabinet are fully with the governor on his new political direction.
“The Governor is our leader. Wherever he goes, we move with him—be it APC, SDP, or ADC. This alignment with the Federal Government is for the good of all citizens, not for personal gain. It is about bringing development to the state,” Aruwa said.
“This movement is not just for the governor, but for the entire people of Taraba State, and we are with him 100 percent.”
