A US-Israeli airstrike on a girls’ school in Minab, Iran, killed at least 60 students on Saturday, according to Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The Agency cited a spokesperson for the country’s ministry of education.
Ali Farhadi tells IRNA the school was “targeted by three missile attacks” today.
He also said that an additional 63 people were also injured in the attacks.
The spokesman added that the school is being cleared of debris to search for other possible victims.
The report has not been independently verified.
Israel and the United States on Saturday morning launched coordinated strikes on Iran, with blasts heard in Tehran as Israel entered a state of emergency.
At the time of the IDF’s surprise attack, the military sent a national warning to all citizens to stay near protected spaces.
