President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate requesting consent for the deployment of Nigerian troops to Benin Republic.
The troops are to embark on a peace mission in response to the ongoing attempted coup in Benin.
There was a coup attempt in Cotonou on Sunday following an attack on President Patrice Talon’s residence in the Le Guézo.
