
A truck driver, Abdulmalik Oluwatuyi, kidnapped on Friday at Ilu-Abo along Akure-Owo Expressway in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, has regained freedom.
Oluwatuyi was abducted at about 6.00 am while fixing his vehicle, which had developed a fault on the roadside.
However, his motor boy escaped and alerted residents of the area for assistance.
The owner of the truck, Monday Ayesoro, confirmed that Oluwatuyi was released on Monday evening by his abductors.
Sources disclosed that the that truck driver was freed after alleged payment of N5 million ransom to the captors.
Sources further disclosed that the kidnappers negotiated in Yoruba with the leadership of the truck drivers.
The Police Command in the state is yet to react to the release of the truck driver.
