Justice Yahaya Adamu of the Kogi State High Court is dead.
Adamu died on Saturday evening at the Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, following a brief illness.
A statement on Sunday by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the state Commissioner for Information, described the late judge as a pillar of the judiciary whose commitment to justice, integrity, and the rule of law earned him widespread respect within and outside the legal community.
The state government explained that Justice Adamu remained steadfast in the discharge of his duties until his death.
It stated that conscious efforts were made to ensure the late judge received the best medical attention during his illness, but despite those interventions, he passed away.
His remains will be buried according to Islamic rites in Igalamela/Odolu on Sunday.
