The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited(NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, who was appointed in April 2025, has not resigned from office, a senior Presidency official said on Saturday, dismissing claims of his resignation.
Reports of Ojulari’s resignation emerged on Saturday before it was refuted by the ranking presidency official, who asked not to be identified.
Checks revealed that Mr Ojulari was at the Abuja headquarters of the DSS on Friday to discuss a security matter relating to the oil sector.
It appeared that this was what triggered the talks of his resignation by those seeking his ouster from office.
A close associate of Ojulari, who also sought anonymity, dismissed his resignation claim.
Ojulari has been dogged by controversies since his appointment by President Bola Tinubu after he fired his predecessor, Mele Kyari.
