In line with Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s urbanisation initiative, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, Mr Yòmí Light Oyékàn, on Saturday supervised the removal of billboard frames obstructing ongoing work around the NEPA axis and High Court Road in Akure, the state capital.
The exercise followed an urgent advisory from the Ministry of Infrastructure to clear the corridor for the installation of new traffic lights and the rehabilitation of the NEPA Roundabout.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement, Mr Yomi Oyékàn.
Oyékàn said the intervention was necessary to ensure unhindered progress on the project, noting that several illegal billboards were also identified and removed in line with the mandate of the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA) to sanitize the signage environment.
He urged owners of affected authorised structures to visit OSSAA for discussions on the re-allocation of their frames.
Oyékàn apologised for any inconvenience the operation may have caused and assured stakeholders of proper guidance on the next steps.
