109 newly recruited administrative officer have been inducted to the Ondo State Public Service.
Speaking at the induction programme held at the State Public Service Training Institute at Ilara-Mokin, the state Head of Service, Bayo Philip, noted it was unprecedented in the history of the state to recruit such a high number of officers at once.
He said the state Public Service is now positioned to higher efficiency.
Philip lauded the state governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for graciously approving the recruitment of the officers at such a time that the service needed to be repositioned for effective service delivery.
He charged the new officers to live up to the expectation by discharging their duties to the best of their abilities, saying the administrative officers’ cadre comes with lots of responsibilities and they expected to deliver.
The Head of Service admonished the new officer to show example of discipline and dedication for other cadres in the service and ensure they stay away from possible dirt in the course of their service to the state.
He said the programme was therefore put together to expose them to all they would need to navigate the service ethically throughout their career in the state Public Service.
In his words, “you are here today benefiting from the benevolence of Mr. Governor. I need to acknowledge and put it on record.
“The last set was brought in in the year 2016. So we must thank Mr Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for granting this unique opportunity.
“You were not enrolled into this rank to become lazy officers. Every other cadre will be looking up to you for guidance and also to take after you in terms of conduct and character.
“So you must not be oblivious of the level of expectations the system places on you,” He added.
Also in his message to the gathering, the Chairman of the state Civil Service Commission and former Head of Service, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu congratulated the new officers and charged to make their impact felt positively in their service delivery.
He said the induction was to introduce the officers to the job environment and assure them of smooth sail.
Also the Chairman of the State Forum of Permanent Secretary and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Chief Segun Odusanya appreciated the governor for recruiting such large number and expressed optimism that it effect an impressive turn around in the service.
