Police operatives have arrested a butcher for stabbing his customer in the neck with a pair of scissors following a disagreement over the price of meat in Umahia, Abia State.
The State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, in a statement disclosed that the incident happened at Orie Ugba market in Umuahia.
Chinaka said operatives of the Central Police Station visited the crime scene, adding that the victim, was immediately rushed to hospital, and is currently responding to treatment.
“The Abia State Police Command is aware of the incident that occurred at Orieugba Market on 14/03/2026, where a meat butcher stabbed his customer in the neck with a pair of scissors following a disagreement over the price of meat,” she said.
Chinaka said that the suspect is presently in police custody, while investigation is ongoing.
She added that the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
