The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a landlord and his associate over the killing of his tenant in Oriyangi, Ibadan.
The command, in a statement on X, on Sunday, said the tenant, identified as Olayemi, was engaging in an altercation with the landlord when his associate allegedly struck him, leading to his demise.
The command in a statement said, “On September 3, 2025, a tragic event in Ibadan’s Oriyangi area resulted in a tenant’s death after a dispute with his landlord over rent payments.
“During the altercation, the landlord’s associate allegedly struck the tenant, Olayeni, leading to his collapse.
“Emergency responders arrived promptly but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.”
Stating that a thorough investigation is underway, the command expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and assured them that justice would be served.
