The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three people in connection to killing of a 27-year-old lady at Fagun area in Ondo West Local Government area of the State, on February 5, 2026.
This is contained in a statement issued by DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s spokesperson, in Akure on Wednesday.
“Upon receipt of the report, police operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene of the incident, where they met the lifeless body of the victim.
“The body was professionally evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that some assailants, who were initially unidentified, forcibly gained entry into the compound of one Helen at Fagun Estate Road 5, Ondo State.
“During the attack, the assailants reportedly inflicted fatal machete injuries on Faith, a 27-year-old female, leading to her death.
“Following intensive investigation and coordinated efforts by operatives of the Command, three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. The suspects have been identified as:
- Olayode, male, 27 years
- Temitope, male, 32 years
- Bolaji, male, 22 years
“The suspects are currently in police custody and have provided useful statements that are aiding ongoing investigation. They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has urged members of the public to remain calm and continue their lawful activities without fear.
“He assured residents that adequate security measures have been emplaced in the area and across the State to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
“The Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property and encourages residents to promptly give credible and actionable information that will assist the police at all times,” Jimoh said.
