A Police Inspector, Maxwell Zabu in the early hours of Tuesday committed suicide by shooting himself dead at the Eagle Island residence of a former chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Thefrontrank reports.
Confirming the tragic incident, the Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death.
Iringe-Koko added that post detectives from the Azikiwe Police Division visited the scene for preliminary investigations after they recieved the report of the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a detailed investigation by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt.
“The motive behind Inspector Zabu’s actions remains unknown, and the police command is working to unravel the circumstances leading to the tragic incident,” she disclosed.
