A social media influencer and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has come under public criticism after his first wife, Tuokpe Onuwaje, accused him of neglecting their son with special needs.
Onuwaje, in a Facebook post on Monday, alleged that Omokri had not seen nor spent meaningful time with their son since June 2024 — over a year ago.
She said the boy, who requires extra care and attention, had been left waiting for his father to create real bonding moments rather than what she described as “fleeting visits” given to his other children.
Onuwaje said Reno’s son has been waiting for him — not just for staged photos or quick visits, but for consistent presence and involvement.
She said parenting is about being there for his children in the little everyday moments that matter, not for social media validation.
She urged Omokri to put aside his busy public life and focus on being a constant figure in the life of his child.
She said, “Stop showing up just for photo ops — show up for real life. Our son with special needs is waiting for quality time with his dad, not just the fleeting visits you do with his siblings.
“You haven’t seen nor spent time with your son since June 2024! Over a year!
“Prioritise meaningful moments over social media validation. Be present, be involved, and be a constant in your children’s lives.
“Real parenting happens in the everyday moments, not just in staged photos. Put down the camera,” she added.
