A yet-to-be-identified man was on Wednesday morning crushed to death by a truck on Oda Road in Akure, Ondo State.
It was gathered that the deceased was returning home after dropping his children at school, when the speeding truck lost control and rammed into his motorcycle.
He died on the spot.
An eyewitness said the incident occurred in a flash, leaving passersby in shock.
“The man had just dropped his children at school and was on his way home when the tipper crushed him. It was a very sad scene,” the eyewitness said.
Efforts were ongoing to arrest the truck driver, who fled immediately after the incident.
The body of the deceased had been evacuated from the scene to the morgue.
