The Democratic Front (TDF) has welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s morale-boosting salute to Nigerian troops currently engaged in a war against Terrorism.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, TDF said it was encouraging that the President conveyed his heartfelt camaraderie bonds to the troops during the launch of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem in Abuja.
The statement read in part: “We also espouse the undebatable view of the President that ‘the sacrifices of Nigerian military heroes have significantly strengthened national stability’. It is indeed our belief that Nigeria’s cohesive national unity and stability could not have been sustained without the sacrifices and steadfastness of our gallant Armed Forces.
”The morale-boosting commendation from Tinubu to the Armed Forces was a timely presidential encouragement for the nation’s military heroes who are currently engaged in the ongoing war against terrorism.
”The 2026 Remembrance emblem is coming at a very special time, as it coincides with the President’s declaration of an emergency on national security.
”Similarly, President Tinubu’s decision to remember our fallen heroes and to support the wounded among those who answered the call to serve the country, underscores the collective need to cherish our national unity and stability.
”TDF therefore joins the President in paying tribute to the nation’s veterans and gallant troops. We salute the courage and unwavering loyalty with which they have sustained the war against terrorism, banditry and kidnappings.
It is our collective obligation as a people, to ensure that their sacrifices must not be in vain.”
The group added that the President’s personal resolve to prioritise national security and governance above politics, has boosted the morale of the Nigerian troops, and fostered national unity,
