The clarion call has sounded: Nigeria’s security is everyone’s business. As His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, steers the nation through perilous times, the onus is on every citizen to join the fight against the hydra-headed menace of kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and armed robbery. This is no time for finger-pointing or fatalism — it’s time for action.
“When the danger is common, unity is strength,” says an old adage. The insecurity gripping our nation is a shared danger, and our collective resolve is the only antidote. While we pray fervently for peace, let’s also be alert — “the gods help those who help themselves.” Security agencies are doing their part; now, every Nigerian must do theirs.
“See something, say something” isn’t just a slogan — it’s a civic imperative. Security is a tapestry woven by every thread of society. We must be security-conscious, vigilant, and unafraid to speak out. Allowing bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists to nest in our communities — for a price — is a Faustian bargain. “Money cannot buy life; life is sacred and precious.” Don’t gamble with your people’s lives.
To our traditional leaders, local chiefs, kings, and political godfathers: “A village is burned because its leaders slept.” This is the moment to wake up. Strangers don’t invade without insiders. Reject the blood money paid by invaders; it’s “thirty pieces of silver” for a future in chains. Your communities depend on your courage.
President Tinubu isn’t a spirit — he can’t be everywhere at once. “One hand cannot tie a bundle;” we must wrap our collective efforts around his administration’s security drive. Let’s “starve the terrorists of oxygen” by cutting off their local networks. Report suspicious activities. Shield your neighbours. Support the cause.
To our gallant men and women of the DSS, Nigerian Police, Army, and all security agencies: “You’re the shield when there’s no roof.” We salute your sacrifices. We urge you: do more. The territory demands it. The people stand with you.
Nigerians, let’s shed the cloak of despair. “A fall isn’t a failure if you rise again.” We must be:
- Resilient Nigerians — refusing to surrender to fear.
- Patriotic Nigerians — putting country above pocket.
- Real Nigerians — rejecting complicity and corruption.
- Accountable Nigerians — living by the citizen’s code.
“It pains to gain if the cost is peace.” Nigeria’s greatness hinges on our unity today. “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link” — let’s reinforce every link. Together, we can. Together, we must.
Nigeria will be great again. Let’s make it so — now.
“All hands on deck. Security is everyone’s business.”
