The Ondo State Rainbow Coalition for President Bola Tinubu 2027 has hinged its support for the president’s re-election on what it described as the need to sustain ongoing economic reforms.
The coalition added that there was need to sustain infrastructure development and youth empowerment programmes being embarked by the administration.
The Ondo State Rainbow Coalition is a multi-party political movement mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
The coalition said continuity would enable the Federal Government to consolidate policies and projects initiated under the Tinubu administration.
The Chairman of the coalition, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, stated this in a statement on Thursday in Akure.
He explained that the coalition arrived at its position after reviewing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the president and what it described as its impact on the state and the country.
Adesanya said the administration’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and unification of the foreign exchange market, were among the major reasons for its support.
He acknowledged that the reforms had been difficult but argued that continuity was necessary to allow the policies to mature and deliver their intended benefits.
“The bold removal of fuel subsidy and unification of foreign exchange, though tough, are now yielding stability, increased financial allocation to states including Ondo State, and renewed investor confidence,” he said.
The chairman also pointed to infrastructural projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as part of the coalition’s reasons that the administration should be given an opportunity to continue.
Adesanya said the project, along with federal appointments and other interventions, had increased what he described as Ondo people’s sense of inclusion in the Federal Government.
He also cited the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme and support for entrepreneurship as programmes the coalition believed had created new opportunities for young Nigerians.
Adesanya also identified security as another area where, according to the coalition, continuity was important.
“The president’s commitment to strengthening security architecture is gradually restoring peace for our farmers and communities in Ondo State,” he said.
Adesanya said the coalition would mobilise support across the 203 wards of the state for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“We, therefore, resolve to mobilise massively across all 203 wards in Ondo State to ensure a resounding victory for President Bola Tinubu come 2027,” he said.
He called on indigenes of the state at home and abroad, irrespective of political affiliation, to join the coalition.
“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027. Continuity is the answer,” Adesanya said.
The coalition’s position comes as political parties and support groups across the country begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
