Independence Day Message from Senator (Dr) Jimoh Ibrahim, Ph.D., CFR
Senator, Ondo South Senatorial District
As Nigeria marks yet another milestone in her journey towards unity, progress, and nationhood, I, Senator (Dr) Jimoh Ibrahim, Ph.D., CFR, join millions of patriotic citizens in celebrating our Independence Day — a day that reminds us of our collective struggles, sacrifices, and unyielding hope for a greater Nigeria.
Sixty-five years ago, our founding fathers laid the foundation of a sovereign nation built on the ideals of freedom, justice, and self-determination. Today, we must continue to uphold those values by working together to strengthen our democracy, improve governance, and ensure the prosperity of every Nigerian.
Our dear nation has faced challenges, but through resilience, faith, and unity, we have continued to move forward. As a nation blessed with human and natural resources, the task before us is to harness these potentials for the benefit of all citizens — promoting peace, equity, and sustainable development across all regions.
On this special occasion, I salute the indomitable spirit of the Nigerian people — our farmers, artisans, entrepreneurs, public servants, security agencies, and all who contribute daily to the growth and stability of our beloved country.
As your representative in the Senate, I remain deeply committed to advancing the interests of Ondo South Senatorial District through purposeful legislation, effective oversight, and people-centered empowerment programmes that reflect the true spirit of our independence.
Let us renew our hope in Nigeria. Let us work together in unity and faith, guided by the vision of our national anthem — to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
God bless Ondo South Senatorial District.
