Aiyedatiwa Commissions Multi-million Naira Library, Laboratory In Ondo School

The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has commissioned a multi-million naira ibrary and science laboratory building built by Aduro Foundation at Community Grammar School, Igboegunrin, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.

The library and science laboratory were stocked with text books and science equipment worth millions of naira respectively.

Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by Mr Victor Ojuola, a Senior Education Officer in the state Ministry of Education, emphasised the importance of library and science laboratory in the school system.

The governor lauded the initiative of Dr Anthony Aduro, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, saying both facilities were the best for teaching and learning processes, especially for research works.

According to him, I quite laud the initiative of the Foundation because both facilities are the best for teaching and learning process especially research works.

“I urge other citizens of the state who can feed themselves and have surplus to emulate Aduro’s gesture, as the government alone can no longer provide everything for the people,” Aiyedatiwa said.

Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, the Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitpupa, described provision of the facilities as a demonstration of the high value placed on education by the donor.

Ologunorisa, who was represented by Prof. Fredrick Ajebomagun, the Chief Librarian of OAUSTECH, admonished parents, staff and students as well as those who would be using the library and laboratory to protect them as their personal belongings.

Also, Dr. Olorunwa Adegun, Rector, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, (RUGPO), Owo, lauded the donor for impacting heavily on the standard of education in the community, urging proper protection of the facilities he described as education monument.

Mr Daniel Olowodasa, the Principal of the school, who thanked Aduro for the facilities, also called on other alumnus to emulate the donor, saying the school was in need of computer teachers, staff quarters among others.

Aduro, in his address said that he was challenged to do all within himself to promote education of the future leaders as an indigene of Igboegunrin.

The philanthropist announced a N5 million scholarship for the best three students of the school who gain admission into OAUSTECH,

Aduro, an indigene of Igboegunrin, promised to hire a Librarian to monitor the well-stocked library until one is employed by the government or the community.

The commissioning was graced by educationist, government officials, political stalwarts, traditional rulers, teachers, students and community leaders.
