
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has constituted the board of the State Football Agency.
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Friday in Akure, said the composition was part of efforts to revitalise state-owned football clubs.
The statement read: “The committee comprises individuals with diverse expertise in sports management and will operate directly under the Governor’s office,”
Thefrontrank reports that the committee members include, Divine Ogbonnaya, General Manager; Segun Joseph, Awosakin Iloyomade, Football Association Representative; Iyabo Ajanaku, and Dapo Ajibade, Marketing Consultant.
According to the statement, the committee will manage the affairs of the Sunshine Stars Football Club, Sunshine Queens Football Club and Sunshine Stars Under-19.
“This development follows the Governor’s earlier promise to take necessary measures to ensure Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens’ swift return to the nation’s premier leagues.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa tasked the new management committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the football clubs’ challenges and reverse their downward trajectory,” the statement added.
