BREAKING: Gunmen invade school in Kaduna, abduct pupils, teachers

Gunmen on Thursday invaded LEA Primary School, Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducted pupils and teachers.

The Head teacher of the school and some other staff were said to be among the victims.

The number of persons abducted could not be ascertained, but residents said they were about 100.

It was gathered that the incident happened at about 8:20am immediately after the assemble.

A resident, who simply identified himself as Shitu, while confirming the incident, said most of the pupils ran out of their classes when they sighted the bandits on the school premises.

Another resident, Lawal Kuriga, also said that the abducted victims were marched into the forest.

There was no official reaction from the state government, while the State Police Command Public Relations Officer could not be reached on phone.
