The ambition of Engr. Razak Obe to represent Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency has hit a dead end as a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday recognised Festus Akingbaso as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Constituency.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik dismissed Obe’s suit challenging the emergence of Akingbaso, popularly known as Fessywest, as APC candidate for the 2027 election.
Obe, a former Commissioner for Energy in Ondo State, in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/984/2026, challenged the nomination of Akingbaso by the APC as its candidate for the Constituency.
Justice Abdulmalik while dismissing the suit, affirmed the nomination of Akingbaso as the APC candidate for the constituency.
Akingbaso’s legal team expressed satisfaction with the judgment.
The legal team described the judgment as a validation of the APC’s internal processes and its right to sponsor candidate of its choice.
The judgment has cleared the candidate of the legal challenges relating to his nomination.
