The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, celebrated the leader of pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on his 100th birthday, describing him as an “extraordinary statesman, exemplary patriot and revered Awoist.”
Aiyedatiwa in a statement personally signed said, “Baba’s attainment of the age of one hundred is not only a rare divine blessing, but also a celebration of a life devoted to service, truth, courage and humanity.
“His life journey remains a shining testimony to disciplined leadership, integrity, and enduring dedication to societal progress.”
The governor said the sacrifices made by the Afenifere leader alongside other progressive leaders, laid the foundation for the development, identity and growth currently being enjoyed in Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa joined the people of Ondo State, the Yoruba nation and admirers across Nigeria and beyond in celebrating the elder statesman for attaining the remarkable milestone.
According to the governor, Fasoranti’s life has remained devoted to service, truth, courage and humanity.
Aiyedatiwa noted that his attainment of 100 years was not only a rare divine blessing but also a celebration of disciplined leadership, integrity and enduring commitment to societal progress.Economic development news
He recalled that Fasoranti played a historic role in the agitation and movement that culminated in the creation of Ondo State in 1976 as one of the founding fathers of the state.
Aiyedatiwa noted that the elder statesman had continued to remain a towering voice in national development, democratic struggles, educational advancement and the preservation of cherished Yoruba values.Cocoa farming insights
The governor further stated that Fasoranti’s courage, wisdom, simplicity and steadfast commitment to justice had continued to inspire generations of leaders across the country.
Describing the Afenifere leader as a symbol of honour, resilience and selfless service, Aiyedatiwa said the centenarian embodied the finest ideals of the Omoluabi ethos and the progressive tradition for which the Yoruba people are renowned.
He prayed that Almighty God would continue to bless Fasoranti with peace, sound health, strength and abiding joy, while expressing hope that his enduring legacy would continue to guide the state and the nation towards unity, peace and lasting prosperity.
