Father remanded for defiling 14-year-old daughter
A 45-year-old father has been remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling his 14-year-old daughter.
The alleged incident took place at the family home in Nduana village, Aguluzigbo in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra.
The Police Command in the state confirmed the arrest, stating that the father, Ikenna Muojekwu, was remanded following a court appearance.
The command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, who made the disclosure on Thursday in a statement, said the suspect was arraigned following conclusion of police investigations.
According to Ikenga, the suspect was remanded in accordance with the order of the court.
He added that the matter had been adjourned to later date for further hearing.
“Anambra State Police Command has continued to demonstrate its commitment to protecting vulnerable persons and ensuring justice for victims of sexual and gender-based violence with the arraignment of three suspects before the Gender Magistrate Court sitting in Awka on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
“To this end, the Command reiterates its resolve to investigate and diligently prosecute all cases involving sexual and gender-based violence and further encourages victims and members of the public to promptly report such offences.
“The Command assures that every report will be treated with the seriousness it deserves while safeguarding the rights of victims and ensuring due process,” he added.
