Group mocks Aiyedatiwa, says he was not invited to Lagos Red Line Rail inauguration

A group, the Oodua Progressive Youth League (OPYL), has mocked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State for not being invited to the Lagos Red Line Rail project inauguration.

The rail project inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, had all the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors from the South-West in attendance except Aiyedatiwa.

OPYL in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Wale Abdulwaheed, and made available to journalists, mocked Aiyedatiwa for not attending the event because he was not invited.

The group stated that all the South-West governors were aware of how Aiyedatiwa treated his late principal, Rotimi Akeredolu, who served as their chairman before passing away.

“Before the late Akeredolu died, we were told that he told his colleagues about his ordeals in the hands of Aiyedatiwa when they visited him at his home in Ibadan after he returned from a German hospital in September of last year.

“According to our sources, some of these governors nearly wept that Aiyedatiwa could treat his benefactor in such a way,” the group said.

OPYL went on to say that none of them would ever wish to have a deputy like Aiyedatiwa, “whose main goal in life is to unseat and take over the state from his boss.”

According to the group, Aiyedatiwa has become someone who his supposed colleagues in the South-West eat with with a long-handled spoon.

“We want to thank our South-West governors, especially the South-West APC governors, for demonstrating the Omoluabi character that they are for Akeredolu even after his death.

“If you have noticed, they all turned down Aiyedatiwa’s invitation to the Lying-in-State programme he organised for late Akeredolu in Akure. The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State attended the programme in her personal capacity.

“We understand that the Ondo Governor’s media aides may want to make an excuse for their boss’s absence at the Lagos event, claiming that the President was in Ondo State the day before.

“It will interest you to know that if Aiyedatiwa had been invited, he would have been among the first to arrive for the programme because he enjoys being seen with the President and other governors in order to give his gullible followers false hope that the APC leadership supports his ambition.

“Why would Sanwo-Olu invite a man who left his late boss’s corpse in Germany to an event,” the group said.
