Guber primary: Ondo APC youths mobilise support for Jimoh Ibrahim

Scores of youths from 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of Ondo State with All Progressives Congress (APC) valid membership cards have endorsed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as their preferred governorship aspirant in the Saturday’s primary.

They announced their unflinching support for Ibrahim’s aspiration during an APC Youths Conference held in Akure, the state capital.

Ibrahim’s first attempt for the governorship race was in 2003 on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, while his second attempt was in 2016 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Thefrontrank reports that although his previous attempts did not come to reality, Ibrahim never deserted the political field particularly in Ondo State. He teamed up with APC and in 2023 general elections, he was elected to represent Ondo South Senatorial District at the national assembly.

The Igbotako-born business mogul cum politician and philanthropist, is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Global Fleet Group, a diversified conglomerate based in Nigeria, with business interests and subsidiaries in neighbouring West African countries.

Ibrahim, the leading APC governorship aspirant in Ondo State, has investments in oil and gas distribution, hotels, resorts, airlines, banking, real estate, insurance and publishing among others.

Ibrahim studied law at the Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU), Ile Ife. He has Master’s of Public Administration (MPA), also from OAU, while in July 2022, he was awarded a professional Business Doctorate (BusD) by the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Ibrahim, who engaged the youths on innovative and sustainable economic development at the conference, explained the strategies he would use to tackle insecurity, unemployment and rejuvenate the economy of the state towards making it an Africa–Dubai state.

The leading aspirant encouraged youths to always aim higher by thinking out-of-the-box in order to achieve their target goals in life.

Said he: “I grew up like you, went to public primary and secondary schools in Igbotako but today I can boast of nine degrees with two Ph.Ds because of determination and commitment.

“The same drive will announce me as APC candidate on Saturday, as am not contesting because of my self or my family but to fulfil my concentrated determination and commitment to change the story of my people.

”I charge you to always apply right strategy that will ensure the goal is achievable and accomplished by allocating resources accordingly,” he said.

Also speaking at conference, the Chairman of Aseyori in the state. Sen. Tayo Alasoadura charged participants to vote for competence and not for mediocrity.

Alasoadura, a former Minister of State for Niger Delta, described Ibrahim as the only aspirant with mental capacity to bring their vision to reality.
