Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a pregnant woman at Ayede Community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Thefrontrank gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the community.
The spokesperson for the Police Command in the state, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the abduction of the pregnant woman on Wednesday in Akure.
Jimoh said that the command had deployed operatives to the community to rescue the victim unhurt.
“Upon receipt of the report, the command has deployed tactical teams to the scene.
“Efforts are ongoing towards rescuing the victim and arrest the perpetrators of the crime,” he disclosed.
A resident of the community who pleaded anonymity, said the incident happened few metres away from the federal secretariat, Akure at about 7.00 p.m on Tuesday.
