Hit-and-run driver kills okada rider in Ondo
A commercial motorcycle rider has been killed after he was knocked down by a private car along Ilesa-Akure highway at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The accident occurred on Friday morning at the bad section of the road between Ilara Mokin and Ibule.
The driver of car which was inward Akure crashed into the okada rider while avoiding a pothole.
The driver was said to have escaped through Ibule road.
An eyewitness narrated: “A private car ran into an okada rider and sped off, killing the Okada rider.
“He was avoiding a pothole but ran into the Okada rider.
“The Okada rider has been taken to the hospital by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.”
He appealed to the government to fix the bad section of the road to prevent further loss of lives and property.
Efforts to obtain an official statement from FRSC proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
