How Cleric averted protocol fiasco at Akeredolu’s Service of Songs/Night of Tributes

The Service of Songs and Night of Tributes at the Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, for Late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu was nearly marred on Monday following the omission Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during the recognition of dignitaries.

Thefrontrank reports that trouble started during the recognition of important guests and the Venerable of All Saints Jericho, Funso Jolayemi, stepped up reeling out names of dignitaries from the list handed to him by the protocol officers.

Venerable Jolayemi was about to exhaust the names on the list when murmuring from guests became loud.

Someone drew his attention to the list that clearly excluded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s name.

Venerable Jolayemi, who was livid by the “deliberate” omission, immediately apologized profusely to the governor. He therefore arranged the list accordingly, starting from the Governor.

He, however requested to have personal picture with the Governor Aiyedatiwa after the programme.

In his short message, Venerable Jolayemi extolled the lifetime of Akeredolu that he served the Lord to the end.

He described the former governor as a man loved by many as he touched lives.
