INEC publishes names of candidates for Ondo governorship election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the list of governorship candidates and their running mates for the November 16 governorship election in Ondo state.
The particulars of candidates and their political parties were displayed on Saturday at the INEC office in Akure and the local government offices in the state.
The list has the names of governorship candidates and their running mates for 17 political parties.
Thefrontrank reports that the display of the names of the candidates is in line with the 2022 Electoral Act.
“As indicated in our Press Release dated 23rd May 2024, the Commission today (Saturday) published the personal particulars and academic credentials of candidates and their running mates (Form EC9) for the Ondo State Governorship election at the State office in Akure for public scrutiny,” INEC stated.
Thefrontrank learnt that some of the political parties used a “placeholder” for the slot of the deputy governorship.
The governorship candidates and their deputies are:

According to INEC schedule, the final list of candidates for the Ondo State Governorship Election will be published on June 18, after which substitution by the political parties would have been effected.
