JUST IN: Channels TV reporter kidnapped in Port Harcourt

Joshua Rogers, a Channels Television reporter in Rivers State has been kidnapped.

Rogers was reportedly abducted by gunmen at about 9. 00pm on Thursday close to his residence at Rumuosi in Port Harcourt.

The reporter was driving his official Channels Television branded car when the abductors accosted, pointed a gun at him and took him away in the same vehicle.

Rogers was said to be returning from an official assignment in Government House after a trip to Andoni for a government event when the incident happened.

The gunmen were said to have contacted his wife and demanding N30 million ransom for his release.

His cameraman confirmed the incident and appealed to his abductors to set him free unconditionally.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, for confirmation, were unsuccessful as she did not pick several telephone calls put across to her and also yet to reply to a text message sent to her.
