Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed the Secretary of NUJ New Media Chapel, Oyo State Council, Dapo Falade, as Senior Special Assistant(SSA) on Information and Orientation.
Makinde also appointed Ronke Giwa-Odufuwa as Senior Special Assistant(SSA) on Information and Orientation; and Yinka Oladoyinbo as Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation.
The appointments were contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
The governor charged all the newly appointed officials to carry out their duties with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Mr Dapo Falade is a journalist with more than 20 years covering and politics.
He built a distinguished career at the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest surviving newspaper, rising to Deputy Editor.
At the Nigerian Tribune, he led major political and regional coverage as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers, and as the lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
In May 2020, he founded Newscoven.com, a fast-growing digital news platform delivering high-impact journalism in the new media era.
He is the NUJ New Media Chapel Secretary, Oyo State Council.
Ms Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa is a Radio and Television broadcast media professional with more than 16 years of experience building brands, voices, and platforms across Nigeria’s media landscape.
She has built her career primarily in Ibadan, following a foundation in music production and performance in London before returning to Nigeria in 2008.
She also has a Masters in communication and Language Arts from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
Ronke has twice held the role of General Manager within broadcast media.
She serves on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan, contributing to education and cultural exchange initiatives.
Mr Yinka Oladoyinbo is a Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune. With 27 years post qualification experience as a journalist.
He has worked with Daily Trust and The Punch as State Correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi States.
He recently served as Secretary of Ibadan South-West Local Government.
He presently heads the Politics Desk of the Nigerian Tribune.
