The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, Felix Ohagwu, has assumed duty, promising reforms aimed at improving public safety, accountability and community engagement.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the new police commissioner during his inaugural address harps on modern policing that combines professionalism, technology and strong community partnerships.
The statement read: “The Ondo State Police Command wishes to formally inform the good people of Ondo State and the general public that CP Felix Ohagwu, Psc, mnips, mspsp, has officially assumed duty as the 47th Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command.
“CP Felix Ohagwu takes over from his predecessor, CP Adebowale Lawal, following his recent posting by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM as part of ongoing strategic deployments aimed at strengthening internal security and enhancing effective policing across the country.
“The new Commissioner of Police is a seasoned and highly experienced officer with an outstanding record in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, public safety management, and operational coordination. Over the course of more than three decades in service, he has served in several operational, investigative and administrative capacities across the country, distinguishing himself through professionalism, discipline, dedication to duty and exemplary leadership.
“Upon assumption of office, CP Felix reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating on the existing security architecture within Ondo State while prioritizing the protection of lives and property. He assured residents that the Command under his leadership would remain resolute in combating crime and criminality through proactive policing strategies, robust intelligence gathering, community engagement, strategic partnerships and sustained collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders.
“The Commissioner of Police further stated that under his watch, the Command would uphold transparency, accountability, respect for Human Rights, professionalism, and a corruption-free policing system in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities. He emphasized that officers and men of the Command would continue to be guided by the principles of integrity, respect for human rights, ethical conduct, and quality service delivery in line with global best practices in policing.
“CP Felix Ohagwu also expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM for the confidence reposed in him to serve as the 47th Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command. He equally commended the outgoing Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, for his dedicated service, commitment, and remarkable contributions toward maintaining peace, security, and stability in the State.
