Ondo 2024: Ex-Deputy Gov Agboola Ajayi wins PDP ticket

A former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 16 governorship election.

He was the Deputy Governor to late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu from 2017 to 2021.

Ajayi defeated six other aspirants to clinch the PDP ticket with 264 votes out of the 621 accredited votes at the party’s primary held on Thursday in Akure.

He was followed by a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, who got 157 votes.
